School Mental Health Clinician

Fernbrook Family Center has an established partnership with the MN Department of Human Services to assist schools in providing mental health services throughout Southeastern Minnesota. This partnership aims to reduce barriers, increasing school age children?s access to receive mental health services within the school setting.

This multifaceted position also involves a combination of clinical services, program development and program administration. Each week will include clinical focus on individual/group/family therapy, individualized treatment planning, emotional and behavioral support, crisis intervention, and skill-building activities.

  • Conduct diagnostic assessments & individualized treatment plans

  • Provide individual, family and group psychotherapy to adults, adolescents and children using evidence & research based practices in various settings

  • Complete documentation in timely manner

  • Attend & actively engage in individual supervision and weekly program meetings

  • Collaborate with school systems, care givers, outside agencies, and school staff

  • Create effective working relationships with colleagues and community partners

  • Work in collaborations with culturally diverse populations (students and their families) in host schools to increase awareness and identification of mental health issue

  • Maintain progress towards licensure and follow requirements of supervision as applicable

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Master's degree in one of the behavioral science field (psychology, social work, counseling, and/or related field)

  • Licensure completed OR on licensure track as LMFT, LPCC, LP, or LICSW

  • Experience in providing mental health services to children, adults, and/or families

  • Excellent communication, advocacy and collaboration skills

  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, valid automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record

  • Must pass criminal background check based on agency, Department of Human Services, and Minnesota Department of Education requirements

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
