GREAT new opportunity through McCord Executive Search with my client of 14 years! This opportunity is a newly created position due to recent company expansion. We are seeking candidates with a strong safety background in a manufacturing environment.
Primary function is to administer facility based safety and health related programs & directives.
Key
Responsibilities:
Creates, administers and maintains plant safety policies, procedures and records.
Ascertains needs, plans, presents, and coordinates training programs encompassing OSHA mandated & company required trainings as well as maintaining accurate/current records for all employees as required to ensure plant compliance
Conducts plant safety inspections to assure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies. Facilitates corrections/improvements as identified.
Implements company Incident Reporting Process, Performs Root Cause Analysis, and works to implement corrective measures as agreed upon by Management Team Members
Administers the implementation of OHSAS 18001 program, policies and procedures at plant level and communicates progress with Corporate Core Team.
Addresses compliance directives as designated by Worker's Comp. requirements and audits
Administers and coordinates the facilities Workers Compensation claims.
Maintains required records such as OSHA 300, Workers' Compensation reports, etc.
Takes part in Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) Inspections
Facilitates industrial hygiene surveys. Reviews results and implements recommendations as required.
Administers the implementation and continuation of the JSA-JSO safety function.
Co-Conducts Safety Supervisors Meetings on a monthly basis, addressing safety training needs, accident statistics, and other pertinent aspects of the Safety Program.
Tracks safety goal progress, provides management with timely reports indicating status.
Conducts new employee safety orientation and schedules additional trainings as required based upon employee positions.
Provides management with safety statistics for evaluating the effectiveness of the safety program and determining areas that need improvement and attention.
Maintains company's Leading Indicator Metrics (LIM) Report and submits monthly summaries to Director of Corporate Safety & Security
Coordinates required changes in facilities to attain compliance by preparation of maintenance requests and follow up inspections.
Maintains knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Coordinates activities with industry and governmental representatives as required.
Attends meetings/seminars necessary to keep abreast of changing safety regulations, enhance management skills, as required by the H.R. Manager
Administers Visitor Confidentiality Agreements and PPE compliance policies and documents with all visitors/contractors
Administer facility PPE programs
Takes part in daily Production/Safety walks with other management personnel
Monitors safety program expenses monthly and compares to previously established budgets.
Performs safety and health responsibilities as required.
Maintains Liability Insurance Certificates for all vendors/contractors
Previews safety materials and implements those appropriate into company programs.
Performs other duties as appropriate and assigned by the HR Manager.
Education and/or Experience/Skills:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited college and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, areas circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Interact both internally and externally on a professional level.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
